More about Michelle M Hylton:
Michelle loves life! Piano, piano teaching, and her family are important to her. She is a piano performance major, and enjoys arranging hymns for piano solo.
Song background:

I wrote this arrangement with my ward in mind. We've had an emphasis this year on "building spiritual experiences in the home," and this hymn is perfect for that. Our Relief Society has had an emphasis for the past month or two on unity. With this in mind, for the transition between the second and third verses, various hymn/primary song melodies are brought in--and I think of the words of the first verse of each as I play through them. I built the transition thinking of "cycle of fifths" sequences in classical music, but rather than doing a true cycle of fifths I just used the key next door, hoping the modulations wouldn't feel too jarring. However, I did change the key signature to make these more obvious to the performer. Enjoy!
