Pachabel's Cannon has always been one of my favourite pieces. I arranged this piece because I was called into a music position in church a few years back and was told under no circumstances could I ever play "classical music" in sacrament meeting because "it doesn't invite the Spirit." All answered, "watch me," and I got to work arranging my favourite classical piece with some of my favourite hymns. Feeling the Spirit in music is not limited to just hymns. It can be found in any up lifting music. It's all a matter of how the piece is played and for what purpose. Originally I arranged the piece with "As Sisters in Xion" instead of "Nearer My God to Thee." A few years after I arranged it, I added in "Nearer My God to Thee" instead of "As Sisters in Zion", because I performed the piece again, and felt "Nearer My God to Thee" fit the program theme better.
