Whenever I've taught about The Whole Armor of God, whether in Primary or Sunday School, I have amended it with Doctrine & Covenants 88:125 about being clothed as with a mantle with Charity. Charity is the mantle (the cape!) which keeps our Whole Armor clean, dry, and serviceable. It's also what gives all that armor its power and strength. I set out to write a children's song about the Whole Armor and Charity, but it grew to be something more. When my music friends read the text they told me that "congratulations! You've just written your first youth song!" Mike Carson offered to write the music, and what he has written certianly breaths life into the words! We word writers owe a great dept to the musicians, and I have certainly been blessed with the musicisnas who have written for me.
