The writer was inspired by Elder Gerrit W. Gong's remarks in the April 2021 General Conference titled “Room in the Inn,” in which the roles of the Good Samaritan and Jesus Christ were compared – both were rejected but quietly served all those in need. The Good Samaritan took the wounded to an inn and paid the price for them to be made whole. Jesus Christ brings the wounded to His church, where we as the innkeeper's servants tend the wounded and help make them whole.
