This hymn expresses gratitude and thanksgiving to the Lord for His help, peace, and assurance which He provides us as we experience opposition in our lives and trust in Him.
Lyrics: Verse 1:
We cannot change the tempests near
Nor bid them haste away,
But through thee Lord our Savior dear
Endure we can each day.
Though circumstances ‘round us rage
Important not are they,
For knowing thou art with us Lord
Brings joy and peace our way.
Verse 2:
Oh Lord, we’re ever in thy hands
And I feel most secure.
In moments of uncertainty,
Thy strength is always there.
My heart doth overflow inside
With gratitude to thee.
Oh Lord of thee I ask no more
But trust thy will for me.
Verse 3:
Because thou knowest what is best
For us thy children dear,
Thy hand extends into our lives:
Thy love for us sincere.
Though understanding be not there
When difficulties rise,
Thy comfort fills our hearts inside
In this our mortal life.
