for this piece (opens in a new window).A few times in my life, I thought I was understanding a situation clearly, but later came to realize that I had been very wrong. I didn't know what I didn't know, and it really troubled me. While reading the scriptures, I came across the phrase "eyes to see and ears to hear" and realized that the Lord could bless me with a depth of understanding that I could not find on my own. This song is a plea and prayer to the Lord to be able to see the truth, to perceive hidden pain, to have eyes to see. This song is from my CD "Touching Sky." I decided to distribute this sheet music for free in honor of a dear friend who passed away, Derek Davis. He was so good at seeing hidden needs.

Lyrics: The blind man
Knew he could not see
His eyes were dark
And every rock
Seemed to catch his feet
I wonder
If I can really see?
Is my faith bright?
Does it light
The road ahead of me?
Oh Lord…
Give me eyes to see
The truth that lies before me
Give me eyes to see
The pain of those in need.
Let my heart perceive
The things that I am lacking
Help my mind be free,
Give me eyes to see.
The Savior
Heard the blind man’s cries
And thru faith
His grace
Granted him new sight
I’m yearning
To see with clarity,
To be aware
To really care
For those with hidden needs.
Oh Lord…
Give me eyes to see
The truth that lies before me
Give me eyes to see
The pain of those in need.
Let my heart perceive
The things that I am lacking
Help my mind be free,
Give me eyes to see.
