More about Ben Alder:
Ben Alder was born and raised in St. George, Utah. He took piano lessons from Jaime Stucki at age 8 until moving on to the organ at age 14 with Kathleen Briggs as his teacher. He now takes organ lessons with acclaimed keyboardist (organ, piano, etc.) in Washington County, Geoff Myers. He has played in LDS Tabernacles in St. George, Utah, Paris, Idaho, Brigham City, Utah and Logan, Utah and even was invited to play the 5 manual (keyboards) Salt Lake Tabernacle organ hosted by now deceased tabernacle organist, Robert Cundick. He loves composing, improvising and arranging hymns and songs.
There is something about the hymn of "Amazing Grace" that catches the world as there favorite hymn.
The 1st verse gives the men the meditation sound, "ohm" as it is literally says, "how sweet the sound". 3rd verse I give the apologies to Mack Wilberg's arrangement when the women sing discant and the men sing melody where I reverse it having the women sing the melody and the men sing the discant. And then the last verse, the final verse, I use the 6th verse as the 4th and final verse of the arrangement to make it more known that at home, "We've no less days to sing God's praise than when we first begun". This means in heaven, there will be endless time ahead to worship and praise Him , just as at the beginning.
I hope you enjoy my hymn arrangement of this world wide known American Folk hymn, "Amazing Grace".
