No, I did not write this, but Latter-day Saints have a hard enough time finding good copies of it, that here you go.
John Newton, the original author, only wrote verses 1-6. Verse 7 originated in the United States as early as 1829 as the last stanza of a completely different hymn and by an unknown author.
In 1852 "Amazing Grace" was used in the novel "Uncle Tom's Cabin," and it included this seventh verse as part of this hymn. Americans have sung it as part of "Amazing Grace" ever since. I hope John Newton will forgive us.
