Song background:

I wrote this lyric in 2018 when the church announced a submissions process for the upcoming Children's Songbook revision. One of the topics they were especially looking for new songs for was the topic of Priesthood and the Family. Some say that lyrics that talk about Ideal homes and families don't apply to and offend children from less than Ideal situations. As a Primary music leader, my reply to this is that our children's songs teach the Ideal so that the children from all homes and situations will grow up knowing and striving for that Ideal.
