I've always felt that "That Easter Morn" captures both joy and the anguish associated with the atonement of Christ. I wanted to set it from the Apostles' point of view. In this arrangement, I tried to capture the sorrow, separation, and darkness they must have experienced at His death, followed by the exultant joy at the dawning of the resurrection and their understanding thereof.
It's unusual to have four clarinets play in Sacrament meeting; it certainly catches the ear of the congregation. This piece should be played delicately, yet assertively. It could also be set for other instrumentation. Please contact me to obtain the files for modification.
