Lyrics: To lighten the burden of a down hearted soul; To bless with compassion that the wounded be whole; To speak words inspired that the Gospel be heard; Oh Lord, Savior, may I be like thee in word?
To be in thy service is the greatest of calls; To lift, love and comfort those whom trouble befalls; To ne'er turn away the hands that reach out in need; Oh Lord, Savior, may I be like thee in deed?
(Chorus) May I be like thee in word and thought? May I be like thee in deed? May I be as thou has gently taught? Oh Savior, may I be like thee?
To judge not another in a way that is wrong; To seek truth and wisdom that my faith may be strong; To humbly submit when by God's Spirit I'm taught; Oh Lord, Savior, may I be like thee in thought?
Chorus
