In this SSA arrangement of John McNaughton’s "Love at Home" the time signature has been changed to 3/4 from the traditional 4/4 to give the hymn a more lively feeling. The 1st Sopranos have the melody in verses 1 and 2 with the 2nd Sopranos and Altos harmonizing. Verse 3 is begun with the 2nd Sopranos singing the melody, the Altos harmonizing and the 1st Sopranos Ohh-ing an obligato. The chorus is rich and full with the 1st Sopranos taking over the melody again. The ending brings in a bit from each verse and ends reverently and quietly. LDS President, David O. McKay said, "The home is the first and most effective place for children to learn the lessons of life… Nothing can take the place of home in rearing and teaching children, and no other success can compensate for failure in the home." This hymn celebrates the blessings of having "love at home
