Song background:

This arrangement of "I Am a Child of God" was written for three voices to be sung a capella. It can be sung by three females or by two females and one tenor voice.

It is written quite low, in the key of G instead of the original C, because the person singing the obliggato (when I first arranged it) had a significantly lower voice and wished to sing it in a key that was more comfortable for her. The score can be taken up a full step to the key of A if the lowest voice is too low for the alto voice.

We sang this at a baptism, and there were few dry eyes in the room. It is a special hymn, and I'm glad to have been able to put together this arrangement.
