I love the hymns of the church. I am excited for a new hymn book! I have had the opportunity in a few wards to be an organist, a choir director, and a chorister, and I was a member of the Bells on Temple Square from 2010 to 2016, and again from 2020 to present. Most of the arrangements I create are for a specific request for a number in Sacrament meeting, but some are just because I feel the urge to arrange music! Most recently though I have felt inspired to write hymn texts, some of which I also set to music.
Song background:

I wanted to write a Christmas song that helps us focus on Christ. We can share the love and joy of Christ freely.

The most important thing in all the world is the knowledge that there is a Savior, Jesus Christ. His light and joy is the best gift to give throughout our lives. While I am not always the best at giving His gift to others, I feel a great desire in my heart to do so. The lyrics of this song express that desire to give the gift of Christ to others.

I was called as Primary Music Leader in our ward and I love serving with the children. This new Christmas hymn was inspired by and for them. The part about Christmas bells chiming is a personal tribute to the Bells at Temple Square and the joy their ringing adds to Christmas.
