Listening to the 2021 Youth Music broadcast, I especially enjoyed the final number, Hope of Israel, sung in so many languages. The eternal Primary music person inside me realized we have no children's song to talk about 'Hope of Israel', and I have been trying to write something since that broadcast. During the broadcast the phrase "We Are the Hope of Israel" stuck itself in my mind, but the rest came today while I was reading 2 Nephi, which talks about the House of Israel.
The Holy Bible uses the phrase 'Hope of Israel' as another title for Jehovah, but we as members of the House of Israel are the hope for the future of the House of Israel; in that sense, 'We are the Hope of Israel'.
Lyrics: I have two sets of lyrics: one with modern syntax, and one with classic, random syntax:
Classic, Random Syntax:
1. We are the Hope of Is-ra-el,
And we must rise in might.
We'll take His teachings to the world;
We'll live them day and night.
2. We'll lift His banner to the sky
That all might gather 'round
To learn commandments we must live
That worthy we'll be found.
3. We'll gather to His holy house,
Cov'nants to learn and live.
That He through us may bless the world;
His fullness He will give.
4. We are the Hope of Is-ra-el,
And we will rise in might!
Jehovah's banner we will fly,
And turn the Dark to Light.
