Song background:

The story of Peter and John finding the lame man at the temple gates. He asked simply for an alm, but received an unexpected and unimaginable gift.  Peter replied, "Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have, give I thee," and he took the man by the hand and raised him up, and he walked, and he was healed.

Lyrics: Peter and John went down to pray and saw a man at the temple gate,
Who from his mother's womb had lived in a painful and crippled state;
And when the man asked for an alm, Peter looked into his eyes;
The man had thought to receive a coin, but his was a far greater prize.
"Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have give I thee;
In the name of Jesus of Nazareth, Jesus of Galilee,
Rise up and walk, rise up and stand!"
Peter the Rock then gave his hand;
As strength flowed into bones and feet
A crippled man was made to stand.
CHORUS:
Rise up and walk! Rise up and Stand!
Walk with the Savior and take His hand.
(2rd ending: Peter the Rock received his power from Jesus of Galilee.)
VERSE 2:
Jesus had gone but left behind the power to bless and the power to heal;
And all who saw the man could leap knew that Jesus Christ's power was real;
We have the same power to heal, we have the priesthood today;
We have the teachings that Jesus left to show us a far better way.
Silver and gold had he none, but He left a gift here you see,
It's the power of Jesus who died for us, so mankind could be free.
He gives no silver, he gives no gold,
But if you have faith and trust in Him
The spirit of God, the love of Christ will help your faith to never dim.
