This song was written from a picture in my head of me encouraging the children to sing about Jesus' birth. Picture the Phantom of the Opera as he holds his arms out while singing “Sing! . . . Sing!” Yeah, that's what I pictured; I kid you not. This is meant to be a children's song, but it is actually to be sung to the children, telling them what to sing about. So perhaps it's a children's song to be sung by the grown-ups.
