Song background:
Sheet music playthrough video:
I had been working on another song called "Power Through" all about relying on grit. After going to a trek fireside with my boys I felt like I should completely scrap the other song and make it into something about relying on God. This is the result.

Lyrics: Step by faltering step, weary to the bone,
a young man pulls a handcart a thousand miles from home.
Too tired for tears, he pulls aside. He can not stay the course.
“Be brave, my boy. We must go on.” he hears his mother’s voice.
A voice so full of faith it stirs the embers in his soul.
And so, relying on his God, he starts again to pull.
The power of faith,
the power of purity
the power of hope,
the power of charity.
the power to learn,
the power to grow,
the power to be,
the power to know.
the power to do.
God gives the power to power through.
Sometimes when I feel faint, I can not see my goal.
The distance seems tremendous, each footfall takes a toll.
I cannot go another inch, My hope is almost gone,
but, with little steps of daily prayer I’ll keep on pressing on.
And Christ will give me strength, for things I can’t do on my own.
Yoked with Him through covenant, I’ll never pull alone.
The power of Faith
the power of purity
the power of hope,
the power of charity
the power to learn
the power to grow
the power to be
the power to know
the power to do
God gives the power to power through.
With hands still marked by nails, He lifts my heavy load,
and though I often stumble, He guides me on this road.
Leaning on his strength, like those who came before,
I'll walk the path of faith, I'll give my all once more.
If they found a way to pull I know I'll find mine too.
Harnessing the power of God, I"m gonna make it through.
The power of faith
the power of purity
the power of hope
the power of charity
the power to learn
the power to grow
the power to be
the power to know
the power to do,
God gives the power to power through
God gives the power to power, I'll rely on him and power it through.
