Song background:

Everyone probably knows the story of this hymn, the touching lyrics written by Horatio Spafford. Here’s a sampling of the beautiful verses he wrote:

The music by Philip P. Bliss fits it perfectly and as I’ve hummed this piece for months, I finally thought it was time to write an arrangement down. The ending slows down after all the arpeggios and triplets have ended, with held chords that remind me that all is truly well and all will work out in God’s time. I hope this piece calms your troubled thoughts and heart as it does mine when you play it at home or at church!
