Song background:

"It Is Well With My Soul" has a deep and personal meaning to me. I rediscovered a deep connection and appreciation for this song when my wonderful Dad passed away last year. The thought was persistent that I wanted to arrange this song for the celebration of his life because I feel like he embodied the message with his life and faith. I've learned that being able to say the phrase, "It is Well With My Soul" is much more powerful than I knew. It's especially powerful when everything appears to not be well. Yet - the words can still be true. It's more than pretending to be happy, it's more than wishful and hopeful thinking. It is the mature, experienced outcome of choosing to believe in God's love thousands of times over your lifetime. My Dad exemplified this attritube - and I will forever thank him for teaching me the power of that perspective.

The video footage was taken by my talented and adventurous brother - It conveys exactly how I feel about the song's message. It's peaceful and should push our thoughts to higher, holier things.

I wrote this music to express these particular lyrics:
