Hello viewers, my name is Allison Howes and I wasborn in Cedar City, Utah. I have always loved being involved with music. I love to sing, play the recorder, and I play the piano a little. I enjoy arranging and would love to know more about composing. I was in choirs all through high school, college, and in institute and would love to compose choir music.
Steve Johnson was born in Annapolis, MD. We met in college in 1992. We shared a love of music and sang and played recorders together for several years. He wrote a poem called In Chase of Grace and as soon as I read it I felt it needed to be put to music. This is the first song I have ever composed. I hope you like it. He says this about the inspiration to write it: "I wrote the lyrics for In Chase of Grace as a poem. I wrote most of my poems after the death of my brother. His passing highlighted the simple truths of eternity which so many seem to overlook, or for which they have little regard. Writing the poem was a release of feelings for the beauty of the gospel. It was my hope that one day others would read it and feel as I did. Having it set to music was an unexpected and happy event."
