Joseph Smith said, " While translating St. John's Gospel, myself and Elder Rigdon saw the following vision." What followed was Section 76 of the Doctrine and Covenants. "Hear, O ye heavens, and give ear, O earth, and rejoice.." I discovered after setting these verses to music that Verse 5 - "I, the Lord, am merciful and gracious unto those who fear me, and delight to honor those who serve me in righteousness" happens to be my Mother's favorite scripture.
This song can also be sung as a solo by singing the soprano line only.
