Song background:

This arrangement of our well-known Easter hymn is a relatively simple arrangement for the choir as there are several unison sections for Soprano/Alto and Tenor/Bass. During the 3rd verse, the tenors and basses sing the melody, and as an option, you can have the congregation join on the melody for this verse as well--the sopranos and altos have a descant during that verse.
