Lyrics: ESTHER by Adrienne Foster Potter
VERSE 1
The King of Babylon had a mighty feast for all the princes in the land,
But when he asked his lovely Queen to come, she refused the King's command.
So he removed her from her royal place and sent for all the maidens in the land;
Esther was the fairest one of all and she accepted her King's hand.
CHORUS:
Esther was a woman of the Lord,
Living in a Kingdom of the sword;
When her Master called for her,
Esther served the Lord.
VERSE 2
When Esther was a babe, both her parents died, and cousin Mordecai was next of kin;
Then they were forced to go to Babylon, it was a war they could not win;
And Now Esther was the favorite of the King, for she and Mordecai saved his life,
But Haman wished to murder all the Jews, which would include the King's own wife.
VERSE 3
So Esther asked the Jews all to fast and pray for three long days and three long nights;
And then she risked her life to see the King, asking him to make things right.
The King sentenced Haman and said that he must die, and put Mordecai in Haman's place;
How the Jews rejoiced and thanked the Lord for His kind and loving grace.
