More about Debbie Wood:
How I love my mother, Brenda; my very first teacher in life. When I was eight, I had a desire to learn to play the piano and she began teaching me about the different notes. Then in Jr. High, my music teacher, Marvin Hill, understood the power of chords, and in one month, changed my life. Over the years, I've written different songs, both upon request, and to express the emotion I was feeling at the time. Each of these songs has a story of how it was written. (Which can also be found at www.power-plus-learning.com/debbs-music/) Each of these songs I dedicate to our loving Father in Heaven and Savior, Jesus Christ. I know They live. I know They love us perfectly and give us gifts and talents to share with others and make this world a better place. How grateful I am to Them for all I've been blessed with.
President Gordon B. Hinckley gave a powerful talk entitled "Be Ye Clean" (April 1996, Gen. Priesthood Session) that impressed me. He later wrote a book entitled "Way to Be" which includes a chapter on "Be Clean."
I've always treasured the peace that comes from living a clean, moral, virtuous life and wanted that for my children. At the time Pres. Hinckley's talk was given, I only had three boys: Bry (6), Steve (5) and Josh (1 1/2). Six years later whenI wrote this song we had had a baby girl, Jaclyn.
How I wanted my children to live clean, virtuous lives. Not only for peace of mind, but for the power one feels with that choice and the blessings of the temple one obtains.
This song has just a few phrases, but the message of staying clean for your future family (spouse and children) is a powerful one. A decision one would not regret!
(Sorry for this midi .mp3 - it makes it seem like this song has no feeling, pauses or slowing of any kind. I hope to do a better recording, but for now this will give you an idea of how it sounds.)

Lyrics: Be ye clean that bear the vessels of the Lord. Be ye clean in every way.
Be ye clean, be clean in body, mind and word, for you will meet the man or woman of your dreams someday.
Be clean, and you'll behold divinity reflects in you. His voice is heard, "Be Clean."
Be clean for your posterity depends so much on you. The choices is yours, be clean.
