This was my first arrangment that I wrote about a month ago. I originally was asked to accompany a girl in our ward when she sang "I am a Child of God" in vietnamese in sacrament meeting. The plan was to just play out of the hymn book, but I was dissatisfied with the tone and went home and made up an arrangment on the piano and recorded it. I tried to create the feeling of our divine potential and uniqueness as children of God through the use of unique chord progressions, using minor roots, and lowering the sixth and seventh to create a nostalgic, unique sound. In the end I echoed the most important part of the song in a grand but solemn "I am a Child of God" to ring out until the end.
