This song is mostly my original musical material - using a profound Latin religious text - "Agnus Dei, qui tolis peccata mundi..." ("Lamb of God, who taketh upon himself the sins of the world.") Also, the subsequent words, "miserere nobis" mean "Lord, have mercy on us." I have, together with my "Agnus Dei" melodic theme, combined some melodic and text material form 2 beloved Easter Hymns - "He Is Risen" and "Christ, the Lord is Risen Today." I am not certain that this song would be totally appropriate for an LDS religious meeting because of the unfamiliar Latin text, but I just completed this song for the community choir I direct to perform on our upcoming Easter concert in April, 2023.
