for this piece (opens in a new window).I wrote this to accompany my novel, "The Pierce Prize," about a Navy Sea Captain who entered the navy at age 12 and was a Captain at age 15. He lost his father in the Battle of Bunker Hill, and it became his duty to support the family. He served in the Revolutionary War, in the Barbary Pirate War, and in the War of 1812. The music makes me picture a fully-rigged brigantine on the high seas, with white caps, sunshine, and billowing sails.
