From Elayna Clegg: This piece gives me the chills every time I hear it! The richness and emotional quality of the chording is powerfully mesmerizing. The organ is a wonderful complement to this SATB choir piece; it musically supports and also adds another layer of mystery and depth to the whole. I appreciate how the score slowly builds in strength and lets each part solo on occasion, for dramatic and dynamic effect. The melody is absolutely haunting. The lyrics ask a question, and then supply the answer. The melody changes its color beautifully as the climax of the narrative unfolds. The ending emotes a lasting deep feeling of resolution and spiritual connection.
