I love this "Resignation" tune for various hymns - "There is a Green Hill Far Away", "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear", and this one, "While Shepherds Watched Their Flock". It evokes so much emotion.
I had wanted my ward choir to learn it well enough to sing acappella, but as the time drew near, I knew we would need some support. So I wrote this arrangement as a subtle accompaniment for this very thoughtful song. It turned out so beautiful when performed and the choir sounded stunning!
