Song background:

This song was written as I was thinking about my mother. Because it was a beautiful and inspiring song to me, I sent it into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints submissions. It was given special recognition which makes it even more special to me to know the Church Music Committee thought enough it to give it an award. It’s been sung in wards for Mothers’ Day by a mother and her two daughters. It is always cool to hear your own work performed.
