Song background:
The piano represents the man, who was converted to the Gospel late in his adolescence. The violin, which represents the woman, tacits; the woman's conversion was long and gradual, with an intensity of spiritual experiences before the marriage. (The theme of this third movement is heard briefly from the violin in the 4th movement.)
