This song is about Lehi's vision of the tree of life. It was also inspired by some oranges on my counter. :) I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you!
Lyrics: 1. When Lehi reached the tree of life,
Beyond the iron rod,
He tasted fruit so pure and sweet,
A sacred gift from God.
It filled him with a greater joy
Than he could comprehend.
I want to feel that happiness,
The peace that never ends.
Chorus:
The sweetest fruit I'll ever taste
Is waiting on the tree.
The Savior beckons lovingly:
He's calling out to me.
With every step, I reach for Him
And let Him feed my soul,
For when I taste the sweetest fruit
Of Christ, my joy is full.
2. In faith I walk the narrow path,
Amid the darkened mist.
I see the pointing, scorning crowd
But know I must persist.
I'll ever heed the Savior's voice;
I'll never be ashamed.
He suffered on a different tree
And there, my soul reclaimed.
3. As Lehi called his family
To join him and partake,
I call to those I love to come,
All other things forsake.
The Savior ever guiding us,
We gather at the tree.
Encircled by His love and peace,
Together we'll be free.
Final chorus:
The sweetest fruit we'll ever taste
Is endless life and love
Forever with our families
And friends in heaven above.
With every step, we reach for Him
And let Him feed our souls,
For when we taste the sweetest fruit
Of Christ, our joy is full.
