More about Dean Reed Guymon:
Trumpet; BS from BYU; Electrical Contractor; Master Electrician. At times melodies have come easily. One song was played on an Orem radio station for awhile. At 3 funerals and 2 sacrament meetings, Mother's Song was sung. Babe Of Light was sung in two sacrament meetings and at a stake "choirside." Mostly, my music has remained dormant for years.
In 2022, Kenneth and I were with the Young Women of our Ogden Ward at their Girl’s Camp. I had this melody on my mind some previous days, but never found time to work on the words. While at that camp, I found some free time to complete verses 1 and 2. My time to help at the camp was ending, as the group of us enjoyed some time around a campfire. Kenneth had his Yuk and he played and I sang. As we finished the song, I told those there that because they invited me to be with them, that extra time made it possible for me to finish the words of the song while I was with them. Later I finished verses 3 & 4.
Kenneth prepared the sheet music arrangement and he played the piano audio. Previously, there were 3 verses. My daughter, Maecy did the piano for those 3 verses. I thank them both for making it possible for this song to be available for our family and anyone else who may use it.
