This is a Grand Amen, the finale of the oratorio, The Last Words of Mormon. This is for anything between SATB and SSAATTBBB, depending on the needs or ability of the individual choir; with piano and organ accompaniment. The sound begins almost as a dirge, then rises gradually until it emerges as a triumphant amen in a series of massive chords, bursting from the earth, so to speak, to be sung by the entire earth.
