A few months ago I had a lot on my plate; more than normal and more than I could handle. I was overwhelmed, but I won’t ever let myself quit so I kept telling myself, “I’ve got this!”
Until I eventually realized that I don’t have this and I actually don’t have to do it all alone.
Christ can give us the strength we need to meet any and all of our challenges. “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.” (Isaiah 40:29)
This divine strengthening power comes as we humbly admit our dependence on and need for God.
So now every time I get overwhelmed and feel like I have more on my plate than I am capable of doing by myself, I remember these wonderful words from Paul: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13).
