More about Jeff Combe:
Originally from Idaho Falls, Idaho; currently live in Southern California. Studied composition with Dave Sargent and Murray Boren at BYU; jazz arranging and electronic music at Cal State Los Angeles.
Song background:

I wrote this as a gift for my wife, Cindy.

There has been some controversy about my choice of language in the way I portray the conversations between the Father and the Son throughout the song.  I call them both "the Lord."  In this edition, I capitalize the Father's title as "the LORD," hoping to make it clear, at least to the singer, who is talking.  I simply like the way the words work together; I mean no doctrinal miscommunication.

Lyrics: The LORD asked the Lord one day, <br/>"Is it good that the Man's a-lone?" <br/>"No!" said the Man. <br/>He spoke out of turn, <br/>But the Lord felt obliged to intone, " <br/>My thoughts, indeed," said the Lord to the LORD. <br/>"Our thoughts, indeed," said the LORD. <br/> <br/>The LORD asked the Lord one day, <br/>"Would You go put the Man to sleep; <br/>And take from his side <br/>A part of his soul, <br/>A helper to bless and to keep?" <br/>"Your counsel is good," said the Lord to the LORD. <br/>"Our counsel is good," said the LORD. <br/> <br/>"Now what will you call her? <br/>What is her name? <br/>Yours is the giving," said He. <br/>"What will I call her? <br/>The Fountain of Life! <br/>Woman, sweetheart, Eve." <br/> <br/>And the Lord said to the Man one day, <br/>"Would you go make the Woman your wife? <br/>And never forget <br/>She's part of you, yet, <br/>And I'll give you the power of life." <br/>"Our hope, indeed," said the Man to the Lord. <br/>"Our hope, in-deed," said his wife. <br/> <br/>And the Man called to the Lord one day, <br/>"Would You come see the joy that we've made?" <br/>And the Lord came and saw <br/>All the children she bore, <br/>And He said, "May your joy never fade!" <br/>"Our prayer indeed," said the Man to the Lord. <br/>"Our prayer indeed," said his wife. <br/> <br/>"Now, what will you call her? <br/>What is her name? <br/>Yours is the giving," said He. <br/>"What will I call her? <br/>The Fountain of Life! <br/>Mother, Mother, Eve. <br/>Mother, Mother, Eve."
