Sacred Scriptures is taken from a collection of songs called The Prophets Songbook which contains 17 songs of our modern-day prophets and themes from their presidency. This song was written to highlight a teaching President Joseph Fielding Smith who encouraged members of the Church to study the scriptures. He wanted alll the members of the Church to become gospel scholars.
