More about Nathan Howe:
Nathan Howe is a Colorado composer, performer, and educator.
Sacrament is a hymn about the reasons we remember Christ and the ways that the sacrament can remind us of Him.
This text, collaboratively written via e-mail between Nathan Howe and David Macfarlane in 2007, speaks of the symbolism of the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. David Macfarlane’s original melody accentuates the poem beautifully.
A note to our Latter-day Saint musicians: Although this hymn is about the ordinance of the Sacrament, it should not be sung as a congregational hymn during the preparation of the Sacrament, since it is not approved by the Church for that purpose. This hymn would best be used as an intermediate hymn, sung by a choir or soloist.
