More about Melinda Nixon Allred:
I've always said that there is special place in the Celestial Kingdom for all those musicians who make their music free for others to use. I figure I need all the blessings I can get to help get me in those pearly gates.
Song background:

Every year on the Sunday after Christmas, we sing "Ring Out, Wild Bells," and every year I look forward to the strange looks and comments from people in the congregation about it.  As beautiful as the lyrics are, the melody (to me) in our hymn book sounds depressing and spooky. I thought I'd would attempt to write a melody for Tennyson's lyrics that offer peace, hope, and allow the beautiful lyrics to be heard in a different light.
