Lyrics: Verse 1:

Men who think they are wise,
Who dazzle the mind, the eyes,
They do at last their theories leave
With no conclusive ending.

Men who think they do know,
Who mock the creator of old,
They die in ignorance and pride,
For they are puffed up inside.

Verse 2:

Men who think they are strong,
Who conquer by strength alone,
They are in truth so very weak,
And by their weight do tumble.

Men who become rich,
Who help not those humblest,
They die one day, their souls empty;
In truth they ne’er had a thing.

Verse 3:

Wisdom gives life to thought,
While ignorance reason kills.
For man doth live in darkness till
He wakens to God’s glory.

Wisdom, truth, and light
From heaven doth make man wise
To his relationship to God
And precious truths of life.

Chorus:

For the wisdom of the wise
And the things they do devise
Shall vanish like the dew
At sunrise.

For the truth of the Lord,
Forever shall it stand,
Immovable, unchangeable,
In splendor grand.
