More about Michael Bailey:
My name is Michael Bailey and music has always been my first love in life. I graduated from BYU with a BA in Music and spent time in composition and orchestration and music recording. I enjoy getting feedback so please reach out to me if you listen and have comments!
Last year around Christmas time I had the opportunity to meet some incredible performers. Since that day we've had several opportunities tonwork together. I've never been asked to write before, so when they asked if I would arrange this Hymn for their group I was ecstatic. So, I let myself go with ranges just a little more than I often do (especially in the tenor parts!) and it was so enjoyable. What a great opportunity to learn a hymn I had never hear before and be able to really study it and find a way to express it. When I learned of the recent passing of a family member within their circle the message of this piece took on new meaning. Thus the dedication you will see on the title page. I now find myself regularly revisiting the message of this Hymn. What a blessing to celebrate the love of God expressed in the gift of His divine Son, Jesus Christ and in His atoning sacrifice for us.
There are two arrangements available. One for more experienced performers (due to key changes and ranges mostly) and one that should hopefully allow for choirs with less experience enjoy the piece.
