Song background:
The inspiration for My Covenant started out as a desire to teach my children what they promise to do when they are baptized. It became so much more as I worked on it this past year. The message that I felt God wanted everyone to hear was this:
You are His child. He loves you with an infinite and immeasurable love. He desires with all of His heart for you to come back to Him. Baptism is the gate to that path, and Jesus is The Way to make it back to Him.
The first two lines of the chorus sum this up perfectly:

Baptism is a promise made with God to follow Jesus His Son.
When I am cleansed buy sacred Priesthood power my journey home has begun.
