for this piece (opens in a new window).The baby Jesus was so precious, the risen Lord is so glorious, and all the animals are precious to him. I decided to let the animals and nature tell the story of His birth, because the animals would have seen the star, felt the beauty of the night, and sensed that something wonderful was happening. Nature would have sensed the power, just as the earth did when the Savior left the earth. Children will relate to this form of understanding that sacred, holy night.

Lyrics: 1st Verse: Listen to the lambs tell the story, How the baby Jesus came to earth. Listen to the birds, hear the little squirrels, chitter chatter of the baby's birth. All the furry ears, all the glowing eyes, see and hear the angels sing. Horses in the fields, fishes in the sea, feel the goodness He will bring.
2nd Verse: Listen to the breeze share the story, of the night the holy child was born. Listen to the waves, see the brilliant star, like a crown in Heaven newly worn. All the mountains sing, all the waters flow, all of earth and space unite. Angels in the sky, shepherds on the plains, see Him fill the earth with light.
