The text of this song describes a person who previously was very independent and proud of her self-sufficiency, but now finds her best efforts insufficient, and her world falling apart. With darkness and despair closing in around her, she turns at last to the Lord. Following the text, I tried to make the music take you along on her journey from fear, regret and compelled humility, through her pleading for the Lord to lead her, to the peace and light that comes through the Spirit as she willingly submits herself to be led by Him.
