Song background:

I'll Lengthen My Stride is taken from a collection of songs called The Prophets Songbook which contains 17 songs of our modern-day prophets and themes from their presidency. This song was written to highlight a teaching of President Spencer W. Kimball who had a sign on his desk that said, "Do it." He encouraged members by saying, "We need to lengthen our stride...the Master's plan is a program of doing."
