Song background:

I Love to Pay My Tithing is taken from a collection of songs called The Prophets Songbook which contains 17 songs of our modern-day prophets and themes from their presidency. This song was written to hightlight a teaching of Lorenzo Snow who felt inspired to attend a conference in Southern Utah. They had been experiencing a drought. He prophesied that if the saints would obey the law of sacrifice, and pay their tithing, the drought would be removed. He said, "The time has come for every Latter-day Saint...to do the will of the Lord and pay tithing in full."
