More about Gail H. Johnsen:
Writing lyrics has been my favorite creative endeavor for my entire adult life. My English degree from BYU has benefitted this creativity. I have lived in several areas of the country and found composer who share my joy in creating music
Song background:

During a particularly dark and troubling time, I realized that bearing my testimony, out loud, no matter where I was,   drove the darkness away. I also discovered that bearing my spoken testimony seemed to send my feelings of gratitude heavenward.

The words to this song express the feelings of hope and relief  as I learned to bear my testimony with spoken words of trust and gratitude.

Lyrics: When trials hang so heavily
That I can hardly pray,
I feel the darkness deepen
'Til I've almost lost my way.
I bear my testimony
And the evil Spirit flees.
My testimony lifts me,
It brings me promised peace.
I know, I know, I know my Savior's love.
I know, I know He pleads for me above.

When with a heart so thankful
That I want the Lord to hear,
How I have felt His presence
And I know that He is near.
I bear my testimony
And the words to heaven raise.
My gratitude flows forth
As a sacred psalm of praise.
I know, I know, I know my Father lives.
I know, I know, the blessings that He gives.

When cares of life, or sorrow
Encircle me about;
When loneliness or heartache
Cause great worry or bring doubt.
I bear my testimony
With words so firm and strong.
A feeling of contentment comes
And I know where I belong.

I know. I know, I know the gospel's true.
I know, I know, I have a work to do.
I know! I know! I know!
