More about Jennifer Hoopes:
I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. We live in the small town of Taylor, Arizona. I took piano lessons for 3-4 years in elementary school and because I cried and begged to quit on a daily basis, I was allowed to quit if I promised to continue learning and playing on my own, which I did. I wrote my first song as a teenager but never shared with anyone. As I got older, I was more brave and my sisters and mom and I would sing them in church. I have always felt the spirit strongest through music and hope that by sharing my music, others can feel it too.

This is a duet I wrote as a teenager about the relationship I had with my Savior at a time in my life when I felt I was all alone and that He was all I had. I wanted to believe that God wasn't just a powerful, universal being off in the distance who was watching my every move to determine if I went to Heaven or Hell. I wanted a personal relationship with Him. Thinking of my Savior as my friend really gave me peace and hope.
Lyrics: Verse 1:
He's always there, He hears my prayers
Even when sometimes I'm not sincere.
He understands, He holds my hand,
He guides my heart to keep His gospel near.
CHORUS:
He'll never leave me when others deceive me
He sees, He knows where I have been.
I know He's there, the Lord, my Savior, my Friend.
Verse 2:
I know He lives, I know He gives,
To all of those who need His gospel light.
While in my youth, I'll strive for truth,
And never falter till I've learned what's right.
CHORUS
Verse 3:
He cares for me, and He can see
I want to live with Him again someday.
The gospel light is shining bright
Guiding me each and every day.
CHORUS
