Song background:

I Can Make a Differnce is taken from a collection of songs called The Prophets Songbook which contains 17 songs of our modern-day prophets and themes from their presidency. This song was written to highlight Harold B. Lee who believed that everyone had the power to make a difference in the the world. One of the ways he thought members could make a difference was by obeying the Lord's commandments. He said, "Our call is for the total membership of the Church to keep the commandments of God, for therein lies the safety of the world." He didn't say the safety of the Church, he said the safety of the world.
